...anyone got a clew of why? (beware that I'm abit n00b)

I have a hardware router and firestarter software-firewall.

Is there something I have to do in the firewall?

P.S. I got the same error message on a windows box without software-firewall

So it is working and the error messages is nothing to worry about, as soon as the maintaince is over it will stop displaying those messages?

Do can i see that it's working fine? which lines should i focus on?

P.S. Thanks for the really, fast answer.

Check the Technical News and Server Status for information.

A word of warning, some people get really angry if you call 'Seti BOINC' 'boink' or 'bionic'. There was a troll who used to do that so some old timers get suspicious and short tempered :/

Edit: corrected link

The clue is in this bit:

> 2005-08-26 10:25:02 [SETI@home] Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi failed
> 2005-08-26 10:25:02 [SETI@home] No schedulers responded

Basically your client is working as it should do. It is sending a request to the boinc servers, but the servers are not responding with data.

The reasons for this are outlined on the home page.

You may also want to keep an eye on the status page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/sah_status.html

(you will notice that at the moment some of the services are disabled)

It's not off topic to remind someone not to login as root, or run programs as root if you don't need to. You are opening yourself to a world of pain if you do :(
