I have solution for problem with showing graphics in BOINC. The only thing you have to do is: 1. Open "Computer Management" (Right click on "My Computer" and click on "Maintenace") 2. Open "Services and applications" and select "Services". 3. Find service called "BOINC", double click on it and open the second tab called "Login". 4. Set login from "This account:" to "Local system account" and click "OK" to save chcanges. And that's it! Restart service or computer and graphics will show now! |

Hey buddy, thanks for this tidbit of information. Just to let you know, though, that posts like these serve people better if they are in the other forum and not the science forum. Mostly, people come in here to discuss science issues while the technical and programming ones are left to the other one. Just wanted to let you know before the moderator of this forum comes. :) Thanks again for the suggestion, though...every little bit counts! I have solution for problem with showing graphics in BOINC. The only thing you have to do is: |

I have solution for problem with showing graphics in BOINC. The only thing you have to do is: one additional step that others put in there is to find the checkbox that says "allow service to interact with desktop" and check it. I've never tried to run the service without it so I don't know what consequences it will have. |

I have solution for problem with showing graphics in BOINC. The only thing you have to do is: No, didn't do it for me. I dont have boinc installed as a service, and it doesn't appear on that list. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. <img src="http://www.boincstats.com/signature/user_220108.gif"> +250 Classic Seti |

You must install BOINC as a service for those instructions to work. Does not have anything to do with having an optimized client. |

Hello Jim. What I meant was on initial install the graphics worked fine, but since opimizing the client it doesn't show the graphics for seti, however Einstien does. Can you advise me on a way to make it work (how to install as a service)? |

Spectrum, the optimized science applications don't point to the graphics libraries, so they won't show graphics anyway. If you're still interested to know how to install BOINC as a service, then look here in the Wiki. |
