Am I supposed to be connected to localhost? Also, on the Statistics tab, I have no info. Is it supposed to be showing something? When I click on any of the Tasks, it's just a blank gray screen.

1) Yes

2) It will show some (quite useless) graphics, beginning the day after you get your first credits. I use BoincStats for stats information, but there are quite a bunch of others.
