I am unable to run boincmgr on my fedora core 4. I have installed the latest version of boinc for linux. Two problems: a) when i start the boincmgr, I get these messages: connect: Connection refused connect: Connection refused execvp(/boinc) failed with error 2! b) The gui anyway comes up - but when i enter a new project and say OK, nothing really happens! (BTW, there is no copy/paste for the key, which is quite *lame*) Any help is greatly appreciated!!! My linux system's config: Linux 2.6.11-1.1369_FC4 #1 |

You need first start BOINC, the boincmgr is only a graphical fontend, which connects to the running boinc client. thanks for ur reply - i figured that out after going through some documentation. however, the mgr still doesnt seem to work - it just freezes. i ended up using kboincspy, which works smoothly! |

You need first start BOINC, the boincmgr is only a graphical fontend, which connects to the running boinc client. I would like to try kboincspy, and I'm also running FC4. Which package did you apply? The only fc4 package I can see is an x86_64, but I'm still on a 32 bit machine... "Are you suggesting coconuts migrate?" ![]() |
