The people in the number crunching forum have talked about being able to run Linux with BOINC installed off of a CD w/o the need for a HDD. They said that someone has created this on a CD. I was wondering if anyone could point me in the correct direction to locate this software as I have 6 computers without HDDs that I could use.

You can also run them completely diskless (no floppy, hard drive, or cd-rom). I run Gentoo on my diskless machines. They boot over the network and mount the root filesystem via NFS. Gentoo's site has some HOWTOs for setting up diskless Gentoo boxes.
