Trying to run BOINC for Seti on FC4 and i get this error on startup:

connect: Connection refused
connect: Connection refused
execvp(/boinc) failed with error 2!

Then after the program is terminated i get this:

init_poll: get_socket_error(): 111
init_poll: get_socket_error(): 111
already tried both ports, giving up
SIGPIPE: write on a pipe with no readersend: -1
send: Broken pipe
SIGPIPE: write on a pipe with no readersend: -1
send: Broken pipe

Any help is appreciated.

Is this with boinc manager?
Is it on the FC4 box that this is reported or a remote system running boinc manager?

Looks like the manager cannot connect to the boinc client...not sure though. Make sure port 1043 is not blocked as that is needed for boinc manager

That is the exact message you will get if the boinc core app isn't running when you run boincmgr.

I had the same problem today.
Scarecrow, I take it that what you mean by the term "boinc core app" is that you
need a "./run_client" running before you start the "./boincmgr"? At least this
was the file that fixed my problem in 'Orbit'.

You need to be running the boinc application. Then you can run the Boinc manager. The latter connects to the application to show you what it is doing work wise, messages etc.
