I have been suing S@H Classic for more then 1 year and when I started this project in the Beta Test Phase I was a little bit disappointed also. The program is completely different, it works in a different way but I was getting more and more familiar with it by looking into more depth. I am not living in USA therefore I do not know how funds are making available to projects like this one. The only thing I know is that a lot of people have been working in this project on a free basis. And some, or maybe a lot of them, have been working during the weekend as well. I am still confident in this project, still believing it will raise to a good level. But what I am feeling from a certain distance is that these people need some more time and, maybe even more important, more money. But then we come to a vicious circle. To answer your question about getting WU's. In the GUI there is a tab named "Messages". If you are looking there, you should be able to see if there was a request to get some WU's. Unfortunately, for the moment there are no WU's available. For a quite comprehensive owner's manual, you might go here. Hope this brings you some more confident in this project. Greetings from Belgium. |

There are two steps to completing a work unit: UPLOADing and REPORTing. When the SETI client has completed work on a unit, the BOINC client will UPLOAD the results to the server. But it does not automatically do the REPORT step until a) it needs to get more work units, or b) you force an "Update" of the project. When one of those happens, the BOINC client REPORTs the completion of the work unit, and you will be eligible for credit for that unit (once all three people the unit was sent to have finished it). Note also that, even if your BOINC client is trying to get new work units, the server sometimes runs out of them (as happened last night). If you read the Messages tab, you can usually figure out what is happening between your BOINC client and the servers. |
