how will the next generation of spaceships look? We already know. They will look like this. Unless, you really meant ... What will the next generation of archaic, wildly overcomplicated, state of the art 25 years ago as a prototype that a bloated CYA bureaucracy pretended was a functional production-ready answer to the real need of reliable LEO transport to the continuing risk of astronaut's lives, the waste of taxpayer dollars, and the delay of the dream of space travel for an entire generation in order to kow-tow to a political process and support an even more stupidly expensive and wasteful "International Space Station" that fits the description of a "camel is a horse designed by commitee" but in reality is just another technological dead-end white elephant in orbit wasting resources to make politicians feel good about serving an noble but misguided international political agenda which, like the shuttle, does absolutely nothing to advance the goal of real space exploration. In which case, It will still look like this. <I>is an european spaceshuttler planned?[/i] I don't know. But I know a real European space shuttle is planned, and you can actually buy a ticket for a flight on it. I do know that the guy who will make it happen looks like this. - Skeptic - "... and there is no intelligent life in Washington D.C. either." |
