I have an Athlon64 running Fedora4 x86_64 I tried compiling que boinc, but no success (sanity check fail) I downloaded some compiled clients (on these pages: http://www.pperry.f2s.com/downloads.htm; http://www.lb.shuttle.de/apastron/boincDown.shtml) But on the pages there is just an executable file. What do I do with it? Where do i put it? How do i open the GUI using this executable file? (IF there is an GUI on linux) I did not found those informations. I would like some help. |

1. What do i do with it ? Extracting the files in the archive you´ve downloaded and make them executable like chmod +x "the_extracted_files_name" (without quotes) 2. Where do i put it ? Where you want them to be. Prefered folder is /opt/boinc 3. How do i open the GUI using this executable file? (IF there is an GUI on linux)? There´s none. Just plain shell. Hope that helps. regards Crunch3r ![]() Join BOINC United now! |

I figured it out a little before you post here i should stop being so lazy and ask stupid questions... the file is a plain executable file, i just needed to execute it on console, and dont expect for any gui to tell the truth, there is a gui (the manager), if I use the default boinc binary, but the default boinc just gets 2000 MIPS, while de 64bit one gets 7500 The 64bit one, dont communicate with the manager (probable compiled without this option) And, another stupid question, problably the answser is no Does boinc has an "screensaver" on Linux? |
