I have a WU on the work page that has a status of "Ready to report", instead of the usual Uploading. Its not on the upload page either. If I update the project the message page says "requesting work, returning 1 results. But it doesn't upload. Is it stuck? Do I have to abort it. I sure do hate losing a WU. Anybody have a solution?

Tks, Brian

No, don't abort it!

The uploading of work units in Boinc is done in two ways.
First you upload the unit (or units).
Then you report the unit (or units).

By uploading it, the server gets the data back.
By reporting it, the server will know that you uploaded it and for what amount of time you have crunched it, so it can give you a claimed credit. To go into the tombola to get your granted credit. ;) (Highest and lowest amounts drop off, the middle amount is for all you three)

So, why can't you report your unit at this moment? Probably because you're hit by the DNS server change that Seti did earlier this evening. It can take up to 24 hours for this to catch up to your ISP's DNS server. The internet isn't that fast. ;)

Just keep an eye on the front page of these websites to be updated on the latest news.

And if you have a special problem, don't hesitate to visit the Boinc Wiki. It can answer a lot of questions.

Yet whatever you do, don't reset your project now or try to delete the report message in any other way. Once your computer or network has caught up with the DNS change, it'll report. :)
