I think im missing some libs, but im not sure which ones I have to install. Is there a place or instruction for getting the manager running and what libs I need to install?

I have boinc running fine via the command line on linux. But when I attempt to run boincmgr I get the following error.

boincmgr
10:43:40: Error: wxWidgets could not open display. Exiting.

So I need the wxWidgets libs and anything else? or if someone can point me to instruction on getting the manager running and what libs I need that would be great as well.

try using "ldd" ( "ldd boincmgr"). It will show you the dep. libs needed by boincmgr.

In your console window issue the following

xhost +

Your X is not allowing other clients to attach.

are you trying to run boincmgr from the command line or from within X?

xhost +

For security reasons you really shouldn't do this. Try:

xhost LOCAL:

This has roughly the same effect without security issues.
