I used to look forward to running Seti - with classic, uploading and downloading workunits was a breeze. Those days are gone however, with the introduction of the horrendous boinc software. Updating my account now takes at least twice as long, if it works at all and uploading seems to be a matter of selecting a result and repeatedly clicking the retry button for about 10 minutes to upload just one result - again I am lucky if it works at all. I am running Boinc 4.45 and have uninstalled - reinstalled several times in an attempt to fix the problem. This is costing me a lot of money and I am asking myself - is there any point because Seti is just no fun anymore. In addition, reading the technical news from the website, (a.k.a. THE COMEDY OF ERRORS)makes one wonder if there really are any technical people capable of making the project work. Thanks for wasting my time and money guys.

Hello Earendil's Star,

there are server problems ATM, and the team @Berkeley is trying to sort them out. A look at the Homepage and the fora would have told you, that all of us make this experience just now, not only Zimbabwe.

The data server is continuing to drop connections, which is very unusual this long after an outage. We are working to figure out why.

The easiest way to deal with this is the attachment of another project ;) It's fine for times like these. Currently you can do the following:
- Search for gravitational waves
- Fold proteins
- Help to design the Large Hadron Collider @CERN
- Simulate the earth climate
- Search for generalized binary number systems

But that's just my personal view, I don't want to push you away from Seti ;)
