I was curious if there is something wrong with my settings, or if it is the way the BOINC System is set up. Can you download from two different workgroups at the same time, or do you have to wait for one WU to finish before it will switch to the other one. I know that I can set the time that it switches between two WU on the same project, but is it the same for a different one? Thanks in advance... |

You can cache WU's. To take profit of this caching tools, you need to go to "Your account", "Preferences", "view or edit general preferences" which brings you here and there change the settings of "Connect to network about every xx days" to a value of some 1 or 1.5 days. After that, you will have to update the new values in Boinc: open the manager, go to the tab "Projects" and click on "Update". Have a look how much work you got. You can repeat this as long as you want. Keep in mind Boinc/S@H WU's have a deadline of 14 days. Within limits BOINC will attempt to keep work from all projects that you are attached to on your host at all times. If there becomes too much work to handle, or the next download is likely to cause too much work to handle, then work download will be suspended for a while. The switch between applications every X minutes is actually switching between projects, not WUs within the same project. I am glad to see someone actually processing for more than one project. ![]() ![]() BOINC WIKI |
