Hello friends of the exactly science,

just a few minutes ago I tried to download v. 3.20 with my standard browser Netscape 7.1 and had to realize that it didn't work. There were no problems to download it with the Internet Explorer, so I guess the procedure is done by something like ActivX.
Isn't it possible to create a download procedure that works with all kinds of standard browsers?

Best regards

I had the same problem - had to revert to IE to get the upgrade. Looks quite possible it's a browser thing rather than an individual config thing.

Download of 3.20 worked fine with Mozilla 1.7, so I think it must be something specific to the way you had your browser setup.

Yes, seems so, but which of the settings will effect in this way?
Ctrl-U at the download page shows that there is no ActivX script, but I'm not
really familiar with this stuff.
Maybe I should also change to firefox.
Thanks for answering.

I guess I've detected the point:
The problem is, that my Netscape obviuosly don't except to run any
"...-win32-installer.exe"-file.
Must be a security feature.
Anybody who knows where to make this settings?

I downloaded the new version with Netscrape 7.1 and didn't have any problems. Just for curiousity, do you have "Enable Software Installation" checked on the "Software Installation" menu found in the "Advanced" section? Unchecking this has caused me heartburn before (but it's been too long to remember what it was exactly).

@ Mark:

Thank you very much Marc, you take the cake! :D
Sometimes I'm not able to read and understand at the same time.
No, but seriously, this Netscape settings were called "Software
Installationen und Updates" in the german translation, so I thought
they were connected to Netscape updates.
So I learned something again and got first experiences with firefox.

Best regards
