So far I've been able to successfully set up BOINC 3.19, and have attached to the SETI@Home project. A couple of days ago it found some work units, and began to download them. There were 6 downloads in the 'transfers' tab, which each successfully downloaded (two at a time). However, under the 'work' tab now there are eight work units (well, what I assume are work units; they all have the same project, application, but different names, same time to completion, and report deadlines differing only by a couple of seconds), and all of them are listed as "Downloading" in the status column. The last message I got (after several clicking update a few times) is SETI@home - 2004-07-16 15:47:39 - Scheduler RPC to http://setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded Quite frankly, I don't know what's going on. Is there a problem with my setup, or are the work units really still downloading? Any information or advice would be much appreciated. |

Normally, they should download so fast you might never see them on the Transfers tab (even with a modem; they aren't very big). They certainly shouldn't STILL be on the Transfers tab. And if they're down transferring, they shouldn't still say "Downloading" on the Work tab. Have you tried shutting down the BOINC client, rebooting, and restarting the BOINC client? Do ANY of those units show any progress in the Progress column? |

If they all say downloading and there is nothing listed in the transfers tab one of the supporting files was probaly corrupted on download. A project reset will clear them out and start a new set of work downloading. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |
