please excuse this question if it's excessively dumb or silly, but i like to understand programs that i run, like boinc/seti :)

i have 3.19 on the computers i run boinc/seti with, and i want to add boinc/seti to a new computer, but the website now has 3.20 for download. can i use 3.20 with the same account i'm running 3.19 with? and do i have to update my other computers that are using 3.19 because 3.20 is out?

thanks :)

Yes and yes.

Just run the new download on all your computers.

Just shut down BOINC first and install the v3.20 over the old version ... Thats what most people are doing ... Don't detach what ever you do, if you do you will lose any work in progress and any Cached WU's also ...
