laugh out loud..... ...haven't you heard? The new Star Wars movie is un-American... It's nothing but a critical treatment of GW Bush.... It's being condemned as 'left wing' propoganda...' USA Today Newsday NYTimes Just more 'liberal' media and Hollywood types attacking those who fight the 'evildoers'.... Laugh out loud is correct..... some people can't help but see a threat everywhere they look. |

Oh for *%$#'s sake Paul, for all the freaking &%$# months I've been on these boards I've tried to be as understanding and considerate of your *&%$ opinions as I can, and for freaking *&%$*% crying out loud I've never commented on your point of view, and in fact I believe every *&%$%& person's opinion is worth a look, and anyone here can tell you that I'm the most freaking accepting %*$#%@ person and considerate *&%$# person as i know how to be. But I'll be %$@#@# damned if you are going to try and tell me now that Star *&%$'ing Wars is a commentary on George freaking @#$% Bush. Just watch the %$#@'ing movie for what it is, for freaking *&%$'s sake. Dig |

Saw the movie yesterday, loved it. Puts the whole series in prospective. I just hope Lucas goes ahead and does episodes 7-9. Account frozen... |

Whatever your problem is, I expect you should write to the papers I linked to..... I didn't say that was my opinion...... My comment was that it was funny, (laugh out loud funny), that others were politicizing the movie..... Get a grip, digger. You're seeing phantoms of your own imagination... If you had read the links, you would have read the refutations of Lucas and others saying the movie was not a commentary on Bush..... |

Previous post aside, I can't wait to see it myself. :) I'm a pretty open-minded guy (on several counts) and I've heard that it finally fills in all of the gaps properly and makes sense of the whole series. I look forward to seeing it. Dig |

Whatever your problem is, I expect you should write to the papers I linked to..... You know what Paul? You are absolutely correct. Regardless of what anyone else has said, I have stood by you in my own mind because you are crunching SETI. It doesn't matter to me whether it is SETI Classic or SETI Boinc... you are entitled to be here either way. Matt Lebofsky himself has said so. I only wish that we could have had a discussion of the new Star Wars movie without your bringing George Bush into it. There was no need for that. Some of us naive and generally nice folk just want to be able to discuss a movie without a political agenda. :) Rock On... Dig |

Just to let you know how ungodly old I am (I'm 42 by the way)... I saw Star Wars for the very first time on it's opening night in 1977 at a little theater in Altoona, PA. I was 14 years old. It was the very first time ever that I'd been to a movie where everyone in the theater stood up and clapped at the end. It was very exciting for us back then. Good times indeed. :) Dig |

The movie shows how Darth Vader came about. It does MUCH more but hey you said not to give it all away. The special effects are VERY GOOD and you will LOVE them! It starts out in the beginning just like all the rest, with a scrolling text and then jumps right into the movie. I did not feel like the movie dragged at all, a few lovey dovey scenes, but LOTS of action!!! |

Saw the movie yesterday, loved it. Puts the whole series in prospective. I just hope Lucas goes ahead and does episodes 7-9. I was in jolly ol' England with some of my teammates getting drunk, eating alot of Thai and Indian curries, and just having a smashing good time. The beers are fantastic (I have joined the crowd who know how badly most American beers suck) and the people of the British Isles are fantastic. I even saw civilized democracy in action, since the British were having their elections whilst I was there. The cities are clean and so was the air. Tolerance was in abundance. However, the prices are so high, I don't understand how people can make ends meet. Any time I hear another American cry baby weep about high taxes and the cost of gasoline, I'm going to tell them to STFU. Cheers! Account frozen... |
