Karzai himself said that the Newsweek story was not the issue..... "The violence was a political act directed against Afghanistan's stability", he said. here The other article gives short shrift to the Newsweek story also and focused instead on the details of continued abuse in Bagram airbase.... here's more The report led Mr Karzai to insist that during his talks with Mr Bush he would request the handover of all Afghan detainees in US custody and also control over US military operations in Afghanistan. And you're right, DB, the proper thing would be to hospitalize them for observation. North Carolina Law does provide for a Police Officer to arrest any person deemed a threat to themselves and have them hospitalized for 72 hours. Knowing that parts of the South Side of Charlotte are not the best places in the world for a Dominoes driver to go.. I'd have to wonder what the rest of the story is.
