I'm trying to compile, i got boinc to compile ok, but the seti_boinc client compile seems to hang my machine. It's on a dpw600a, with 128MB ram, redhat linux 7.1 kernel 2.4.3-12 Have you had any luck? |

I´ve fixed it but now there are new errors while compiling. Man this sucks. |

I'm trying on OpenVMS - trouble is the un*x support is missing some bits - got maketmp, hostinfo compiled today - now need automake and autoconf to compile - but they need each other - talk about incestuous code!!! Berkeley should produce a FULL list of the un*x tools required to build this code - then work on reducing it. Using a dual processor DS20 with 1.5GB of RAM at present - but if I can get it to work, I then have a quad processor ES47 (with the EV7/1150MHz processors) for it - as well as an Itanium RX2600 with the 1.3GHz/6MB processors in it - along with several DS15's and DS10's. I have a few DS10 boxes running OpenVMS that i could install it onto :) |

Is there anyone in progess of porting the boinc client and seti app to OpenVMS on Alpha and/or IA64 ? I have collected some links about the porting to OpenVMS : From the Seti Fourms : http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=21023 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1727 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=1378 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=12749 http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=17944 From the newsgroups : http://groups.google.com/group/comp.os.vms/browse_frm/thread/423efc3fc0681cd2/957093a61e512073?q=boinc+vms&rnum=2#957093a61e512073 http://groups.google.com/group/comp.os.vms/browse_frm/thread/56f28bb152ff8426/ea5dfc058950dadb?q=boinc+vms&rnum=5#ea5dfc058950dadb I have the impression, that there a lot of OpenVMS users are waiting for some binaries. And I think it is worth to try to port it to VMS. |
