I think I have found out why Boinc makes mutiple IDS for the same computer. I attached to the project http://setiathome.berkeley.edu and everything ran fine. Then I notcied after rebooting, I accidentally reattached to the same project but put a period on the end of the URL like this http://setiathome.berkeley.edu. I used the same account ID forboth, and gues what? YUP! To Seti@home running 50% each. Just to be sure this was really the case, I logged into Seti and checked on my account pages and went to my computers. Sure enough to seperate ids for the same computer. I merged the computers and then repeated the process. Same results everytme. Idid it like fifty time justto be sure. The results are always the same. Two seperate ids for the same computer. Is this perhaps a bug? And did anyone else notice this? How do I report this to the boinc crew? can anyone else please check and verify my results please thanks. |

OK, peole, this is a big bug, the more periods you put at the end of the url, the more times you cann attach, I am attached 16 time now to the same project! Dowloadwork units for all. |

That's interesting. Since a period at the end is no longer a valid URL, I wonder why it can log in and give you work. I sure hope you aren't just detaching from these "extra" attachments and tossing away all those WUs. <a> |
