Copy the account...xml file from the machine that is running well to the problem machine. Restart the client and it will pick it up. There is no possibility for errors that way. If there are problems it will be a server or communication issue. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

The server seems to be up today, so look for firewalls and proxies not letting the client talk to the servers. John Keck BOINCing since 2002/12/08 |

I read this with great interest. I have the same problem. Just one machine out of 12 will not attach to ANY project. Copy over an account...xml from any of the working (boinc/predictor) machines makes no difference. Stopping the firewall makes no difference. Seti classic works fine with freeproxy like all the others working with boinc - all set up with the same proxy server. Even changed the lan card. Dam thing. Nairb |

I have the same problem with two machines, it's driving me crazy!!! Six other machines on the same network had no problems at all. Hopefully someone will find a solution to this problem. |

Ok, I got them working. Both machines had Zone Alarm installed on them but not running. I uninstalled it then after rebooting I removed Seti Driver from my start up folder. Works ok now. Not sure why these two machines had to have Zone Alarm removed because I have other machines with Zone Alarm on them, (not running) and Seti Driver in the start up folder and had no problems at all! Anyway, I hope this helps others with the same problem. John |

Turned off Norton Internet Security, did a reboot, made a connection with BOINC S@H, got an WU, switched NIS back on and til now it does the job. NIS is active, no problems up/down loading WU's. Ron |
