Why, if the schedular status is up, cant I upload or download my WU's? and when attempting a update the "No schedulers responded" is still comming up? |

Truth is dangerous... especially when it challenges those in power. |

After an outage, things don't snap right back ... it takes a day or two for the systems to get back in "balance" ... that is why the "old hands" like me always reccommend participating in multiple projects ... When one "flips out" you have others to lavish your loving attention on ... |

Whoa there... Just did a timezone correction.. the darn thing has only been up an hour and a half (half).. I missread the date time.. thought it had been up 12 hours or so.. no critisism intended.. the poor system hasn't had a chance for its morning coffee.. no insult or critisism intended.. I should have ended my question with could I have a prob or is there A change I have not read about.. thanks for pointing out my error in time calculation cheers Glenn > > > > Why, if the schedular status is up, cant I upload or download my WU's? > and > > when attempting a update the "No schedulers responded" is still comming > up? > > After an outage, things don't snap right back ... it takes a day or two for > the systems to get back in "balance" ... that is why the "old hands" like me > always reccommend participating in multiple projects ... > > When one "flips out" you have others to lavish your loving attention on ... > |

Last I looked at the server source code...seti is using holding 100 results ready to send out to clients in server memory at a time. When they get sent, another process fills them up, when the database server grants its request for data. So basically the server is getting emptied quickly (and the DB server probably can't keep up as well). I've allways suggested a slightly larger memory queue would overcome "some" of this sort of problem, as well as a few others. Oh..and 200K. :) |

Increasing the cache is not going to help that much. Running 2-3 projects does. I have been running at least 2 projects on all machines, with 2 day cache and I have NEVER been out of work. |

I found increasing my cache to 10 days did help as I have never ran out of work since starting Boinc seti.Even though it is set to 10 days I never have more than 5-6 days in my cache as I have 2 cpu's. ......In Space No One Can Hear You Scream...... |
