i have a dual xeon and got 2 hostid in my list for this machine... is this right or should it be just one ? rene' |

There should only be one. This happened with my laptop as well. Just merge the older one into the newer one with the link all the way at the bottom of the host details page. I did this and it hasn't re-appeared since. |

ok, but why is this happening ? if i start boinc it show only "Host ID is..." with the first number ?? and its not that the other number doesn't get credits! rene' |

I'm not sure why it happens. With my laptop, it could have been the fact that the CPU cycles down to 600 MHz (from 1.3 GHz) when not being used so BOINC may have been started when the CPU was running at a different speed and though it must be a different computer. If you client displays a host ID when it is started then I would merge the other host into that one. You won't lose the credits. If it happens again, I'm not sure what to do. But as I said... that fixed it once and for all with my laptop. |
