I cannot get the manager to stop downloadin new WUs. (CPDN SETI & E@H). Have been unistalling fully prior to trying any new versions. My prefs are now set to 0.1 days and it still won't stop downloading or attempting to download. By the time I checked the status of the manager, I'd picked up 5 CPDN 14 E@H and 101 SETI WUs. Have now tried V.66, .65, .62, .59 .19 and .14. (FYI I'm not exactly crunching with HAL Benchmark results: Number of CPUs: 1 1998 double precision MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU 3386 integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU) Any ideas? G. |

As I'd hoped was patently obvious from my post, I am trying to get it to stop downloading work units. There's no way I can do even a fraction of the WUs sent to me before the deadlines expire. I thought I'd do utmost to not waste the time of my fellow crunchers by making sure that I can maintain a reasonable cache and am not dumping valid work left right and center. G. |

I have a high speed (always on) connection. For the time being, I have obviously disabled the Boinc network access. G. [edit] Tried V4.21 as a last resort before doing a 'dirty' delete after uninstalling the last version. Much to my surprise, with this version it finally seems to have stopped filling my HD with more work than I could contemplate within the allotted deadlines. [/edit] |
