Looking into Statistics and leaderboards, I got the following: Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Host 'klaatu.ssl.berkeley.edu' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' in /disks/koloth/raid5_b/users/boincadm/projects/sah/html/inc/db.inc on line 20 Unable to connect to database - please try again later Error: 1129Host 'klaatu.ssl.berkeley.edu' is blocked because of many connection errors. Unblock with 'mysqladmin flush-hosts' Apparently a lot of connection errors. Due to overload? The lookup tables of the statistics dont get over the position 720. Anyone has got the same problem? Afterwards no website pages were reachable and I did have to go out of the browser and had to fire up again to reach this page... Intermittentl the same warning came up and I had to click back and forth to get to this page. Strange ... Greetings from Belgium, ;)) |

I've been getting that error a lot today, although it seems to have suddenly stopped finally. I would get it in all nearly all areas of the website and the only way I could get by it was to continually refresh until the page actually loaded. Who knows why exactly it happened. I think something basically needed to be reset and they just now got that figured out and done. The lookup tables for the statistics do go over 720. I don't remember for sure since it was yesterday that I discovered it, but I'm pretty sure there were 2 ranges, I think 721-740 being one of them, that didn't work. You can bypass ranges that don't load by advancing the number in the URL by 20. If the number you enter isn't divisible by 20, the list displays 1-20 (or at least STARTS at 1, I really didn't check to see how far the list went). Now for the real kicker. Yesterday I went well into the two or three thousands or something with no problem (I skipped a lot of them by typing the number manually though so I don't know if there are any other missing ranges). It didn't mind me going that far at all. Today though, as soon as I hit 1000, it said "limit exceeded" and "Sorry - first 1000 only." And then right under that was the stupid message about the error. So I went back to 980 and pressed next. It gave me the same limit exceeded message, but underneath that, proceeded to put 1001-1020. Now I've continued in excess of 1200, every page with the same "error." I would imagine that since the "mysql" problem seems to be fixed, you can type pretty much any multiple of 20 in and be ok. But it is still very weird that it says it can't display more than 1000 right above a list in the 1200s. |
