We're testing BOINC updates, which have broken the splitters. ![]() |

Seems as if the splitters are coming back to life. Edit: Or not :-) |

This is bad news, seeing that I was coming back to test a new computer! Been running 24 wu's on standard SETI for around 45 minutes and they're all nearing 10%. Am dying to try it here. (And that's with the stock app.) Jim Problems? Check the Boinc Wiki Or the NEW SETI Enhanced FAQ |

Must have been fixed, I got some beta tasks. |

Yes, please report any problems you see. We'll probably promote these server binaries to the main project next week. ![]() |

um ... https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=58294 and https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=72834 may or may not be related to what you are testing or configuring |

Just for fun, I fired up my 10 year old computer with a Q8200 CPU, and an equally ancient AMD ATI Radeon HD 4850 GPU. Still running on Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium x64 Edition, Service Pack 2, (06.00.6002.00) It doesn't produce much/watt, but it's still going strong (or weak) :-) https://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=57178 |

That just goes to support the statements about SETI supporting a very wide range of hardware, not just the bleeding edge stuff that some of us decide to run. |

Maybe a stupid question, but nevertheless: Why do I still get tasks for SETI@home v8 8.05 windows_x86_64, for my Q8200 when it is totally obvious that SETI@home v8 8.08 windows_x86_64 (alt) is much faster? I mostly get tasks for SETI@home v8 8.08 windows_x86_64 (alt), but 3 or 4 tasks/day for SETI@home v8 8.05 windows_x86_64 still sneaks in. See below: SETI@home v8 8.05 windows_x86_64 Number of tasks completed 45 Max tasks per day 66 Number of tasks today 3 Consecutive valid tasks 33 Average processing rate 13.49 GFLOPS Average turnaround time 0.61 days ------------------------------------------------------- SETI@home v8 8.08 windows_x86_64 (alt) Number of tasks completed 161 Max tasks per day 200 Number of tasks today 21 Consecutive valid tasks 167 Average processing rate 18.23 GFLOPS Average turnaround time 0.99 days |

I wish I knew also. It is especially bad on the Android apps. A single app is obviously the best choice, has finished and validated hundreds of tasks and yet, the scheduler continues to throw every possible app at the devices, even apps that have never finished a task and only errored out. The scheduler app optimization mechanism does not work evidently. |

There might be an simple answer for that. Either Eric didn`t think its not needed anymore or he simply didn`t find the time to remove it. With each crime and every kindness we birth our future. |
