The 8.10 apps will be updated also to 8.11?

Don't want to stress you - just would like to know when I can 'allow new tasks'. ;-)

Thanks.

EDIT: During I write this message, now just 2 apps with 8.10... process happen, or site update lasts...
So I can 'allow new tasks' again?
My PC will just get 8.11 apps, not 8.10 or 8.09?

Thanks.

EDIT#2: All above mentioned apps are now 8.11.

It looks like it's still something wrong...

My PC: http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=78612

Got the app:
SETI@home v8 v8.11 (opencl_atiapu_SoG)
windows_intelx86

No MultiBeam_Kernels_r****.cl file in the project folder, BOINC Messages:

SETI@home Beta Test - 07.04.16 | 20:27:37 - Task postponed: Can't read CL file

All 50 tasks were started and after 1 second stopped each and gone in 'waiting' status.
All tasks are 'waiting to crunch' status now.

It looks like 8.12 work well...
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=78613

But I saw at the server status page, just 715 new tasks available for download...

My PC have these in a few hours calculated... ;-)

Seeing a lot of compute errors about 5 sec into job on 8.12:

Seems finally it started to work OK.
Maybe some issue of simultaneously creating same files for 2 identical GPUs.

Greetings All

Just pulled down two 8.12 work units down at the same time for the following computer ID:77802

Core2Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz [Family 6 Model 15 Stepping 11]

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (768MB) driver: 361.43 OpenCL: 1.1,
AMD Radeon HD 7850/7870 series (Pitcairn) (2048MB) driver: 1.4.1848 OpenCL: 1.2

Windows 7 SP1 (06.01.7601.00) BOINC version 7.6.22 Memory 6142.54 MB

Workunit ID 8478441 SETI@home v8 v8.12 (opencl_nvidia_sah)
WU true angle range is : 0.429388

Workunit ID 8478457 SETI@home v8 v8.12 (opencl_ati5_SoG_cat132)

The NVIDIA unit has completed awaiting validatin - no overflow on this one, also added the angle range as well.

The AMD is taking its time though, estimating over an hour to complete.

Hope this helps in some way for you.

Regards
Mark.

My little Amd 260X has no problem with this version.
A curiosity: what's new with this app? Only bugfix? New protocols and science?

New protocols and science?

Were in v8.
V8.12 is bugfix (to prev beta app, current app on main unaffected).

Your problem is the BOINC version that you are using :
<core_client_version>7.6.6</core_client_version>

This version has some bug which will hinder the core client cleaning up slot directories under BOINC/Slots

Please use another BOINC core client.

Eric, it's still needed to allow/send .vlar tasks to AMD/ATI & NV VGA cards?

Currently my PC have 50 .vlar's for the AMD/ATI VGA cards... - it looks like we have currently a .vlar 'storm'...

It 'destroy' the 'Average processing rate' (because of the much higher calculation time compared to the usually mid or VH ARs) - and finally the decision of the server which app is the fastest solution for the PC... - JMHO.

Well, we always should remember what all those "points" about. They are about radio signal processing, not about APR, credit or whatever. VLAR allows to extract best possible sensitivity from Pulse search (longest accumulation time for single point in sky) so VLARs are important for the project (actually, if we could get own telescope time almost all we would get would be VLARs).
Though relative performance CPU vs GPU differs through ARs, complete disabling VLAR for GPU could result in no work for GPU at all sometimes (again, especially if we will have own observation time) so will decrease project overall performance.
What would be the best is possibility to enable/disable VLAR processing on GPUs on per-host basis. Unfortunately (cause VLAR is the same MultiBeam) BOINC lacks ability to provide such selection. Would be good if such additional flexibility would be implemented.

+1

If that was possible, then it would greatly help. Especially if Green Bank data is mostly VLAR (please correct me if that is wrong but that is the last thing I remember hearing about that data)

...and following on from Raistmer, don't forget that Beta is not about analyzing "real" data, but making sure that the applications used on main produce the correct results.
