Message 56596 - Posted: 9 Feb 2016, 14:02:52 UTC - in response to Message 56593.

And what about limited work supply? Intentional or not? ;)
Cause my host can't get work for awhile already...

Just checked and my hosts are downloading tasks OK - I did have problems over the weekend but all sorted now.

Perhaps it's just you ;)

All three of your active PCs are showing 50 tasks in progress. IIRC, that was set as the quota level (max in progress, not daily) while we had so many 'guests' from the main project.

You should have messages in your event log confirming that and other reasons for non-supply.

I've started my GTX970M card with some wu. Running 2WU at a time on the card.
Is there anything special I should do to try to help out?

Seem to be running OK but v8.09 takes about twice as long as v8.06

SETI@home v8 v8.06 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah) windows_intelx86 about 2,500s

SETI@home v8 v8.09 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah) windows_intelx86 just under 5,000s

Can I have more verbose report with at least links to tasks results for comparison?

It's this host http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=71901

8.06 tasks
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/result.php?resultid=23234115
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/result.php?resultid=23235693

8.09 tasks
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/result.php?resultid=23239735
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/result.php?resultid=23239729

Hopefully these links will work for you

Edit: just noticed the angle ranges are vastly different so that may account for the time difference. Perhaps the latest batch of tasks is different to what we've had recently.

Application details show

SETI@home v8 8.06 windows_intelx86 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah)
Number of tasks completed 1577
Max tasks per day 1739
Number of tasks today 0
Consecutive valid tasks 1457
Average processing rate 24.67 GFLOPS
Average turnaround time 1.56 days

SETI@home v8 8.09 windows_intelx86 (opencl_intel_gpu_sah)
Number of tasks completed 6
Max tasks per day 40
Number of tasks today 40
Consecutive valid tasks 7
Average processing rate 42.69 GFLOPS
Average turnaround time 0.31 days

That's why I like more verbose reports (and more careful observations).
From your last post one can infere that new build much faster than old one, not slower.

EDIT: and yes, VHAR and mid-AR times are uncomparable at all.

A bit off topic, but some images here are broken.

This is in both Firefox and in Opera, could somebody fix this?

Been broken for about a month now. I just put it down to DA "fixing" the server code yet again.

emailed the crew.
I'd class it as cosmetic only, so I wouldn't hold my breath for getting fixed soon.

Just out of curiosity, why is the ASYNC_SPIKE option not used for any of the SoG versions?

Thanks,

Hi!

I have an Apple iMac 11,1 (late 2009) with a ATI Radeon HD 4850. It has been working great for Feb & March until just recently. Now the graphics subsystem seems to stop working - I get a "service progress watchdog" event from the WindowServer. This means I can still see the desktop and can move the cursor, but no "clicks" or keyboard taps are recognized (serviced), so my only recourse is to power off. I have also seen recently some graphics artifacts.

Has anything changed? As I remember (so take with a grain of salt), the OpenCL tasks used to take about an hour, and now they take closer to 3 hours.

The app has been made working for all ATI HD 4xxx series GPUs used in Macs. For your GPU there should be no differences between 8.06 and 8.07, eventually it is heat related (dust) ?

Check the angle ranges (ar) of each task, that might give you an answer why you see different runtimes now.

p.s. most of your OpenCL wus (ar=2.7...) were done just below 2 hours in Feb.

SoG superseeds that. In SoG all spikes/autocorrs/gaussians are async ones.
