Please drop few lines in maillist about signal printing choices in stderr. Stock CPU lacks of this feature but it happened to be quite convenient for signal comparison w/o binary results available.

If you've got the time to port the signal printing code to the main branch, I'll deploy it for windows and linux (because those are the easy ones to deploy to.)

It also works on OS X.

Yeah, but I would need to get Charlie to build new OSX versions. Don't want to bother him with that right now.

Is there any Windows/750Ti apps that needs testing?

I have been running clean with stock apps.

I'll see if we have other Hawaii's

Here are a few.

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=61446
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=62217
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=63626
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=63970
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=73969
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=73998

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=76155
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=76953
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/show_host_detail.php?hostid=77441

Some of them are running with GPU crunching turned off.

On the one hand, only the 61132 host seems to be having problems out of that group. On the other hand, that's the only one of the group using Driver version: 1800.8 (VM). On the third hand, that host's issues don't appear to be new with v8. In addition to its v7 Invalids on Beta, the same host on Main, 6623817, exhibits similar symptoms running v7, with higher Spike and Autocorr counts on its current Inconclusives. You'd probably have to survey other hosts using that driver to narrow it down.

Thanks for such detailed report.
That is, we can not exclude 1800.8-specific driver issues so far.
And yes, if it has issues with v8 almost certainly it will have/had issues with v7 and vice versa. Both apps differs only in non-GPU parts. Hence survey can be done through hosts on main too if Hawaii + 1800.8 has issues with ATi OpenCL MBv7 app.

I would read that as
'that's a nice feature to have, but I don;t have the time to get it ported, so if you can spare the time to get it into the main branch (i.e. for stock apps), I'd be happy to deploy it'

iow, go for extended signal printing

I have seen a couple Hawaiis with issues running V7 using this driver.
This driver wasn`t very stable anyways.

Hm, OK, I'm confused now...

I tested here inter alia the (open) beta apps (Raistmer's: MB8_win_x64_AVX_VS2010_r3309.exe and stock setiathome_8.05_windows_intelx86__opencl_ati5_sah.exe (r3314))
(Also r3299, and SoG r3256.)

Here no errors on my PC.
I read in the SETI-Main forum, that after successful test here, it's OK to use the apps also at SETI-Main.

OK, I did.
But, at SETI-Main the apps make here and there (maybe 2 times/day) errors: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7811934&offset=0&show_names=0&state=6&appid=29
CPU and GPU: exit code -1073741819 (0xc0000005)

I made a SETI-Main forum search and found this URL, because of this error: http://boincfaq.mundayweb.com/index.php?language=1&view=98

The PC was running very well with SAHv7's AKv8c_r2549_winx86-64_AVXxjfs.exe and MB7_win_x86_SSE2_OpenCL_ATi_HD5_r2929.exe - over three months at SETI-Main, no error.

Since SAHv8 apps, no errors here, but at SETI-Main.

I have no idea what's going on.

Currently I let run here (again) the same app_info.xml file and same apps like I did at SETI-Main.
Since again yesterday 17:00 UTC.
So since ~ 22 1/2 hours no error here.
http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/results.php?hostid=76831&offset=0&show_names=0&state=4&appid=38

Why make the apps at SETI-Main errors?

In my new Inconclusives this morning I found another Hawaii apparently experiencing the same issue, but with driver 1912.5 (VM). It's host 73918, belonging to woohoo. It doesn't seem to be throwing any Invalids but for WU 7874186 (paired with my host 73574, running the task on a GTX780) and WU 7872685 (paired with another host, also running a GTX780), it seems to be finding an extra Spike and extra Autocorr.

So, I started to look through 73918's validated tasks and found a very interesting one in WU 7874186. Here my GTX780 matched host 76881 (running a Tahiti w/ the 1800.8 (VM) driver), while 73918 also validated but with one extra Spike and Autocorr. That WU might demonstrate that the issue is more related to the Hawaii GPU than the driver. Or......it might not. ;^)

More examples needed, I think.

EDIT: I just realized that WU 7874186 went from Inconclusive to Valid during the time I was actually researching and drafting my post, so I ended up using the same example twice. Whoops! But the GPU vs. driver question is still valid, I think.

Eventually there'll be one for Armv7 Linux hosts, ie Parallellas and Pi 2's.

Well, here's a fun one! WU 7874610 has woohoo's Hawaii on host 77035 (Task 21698893, opencl_atiapu_sah) disagreeing with woohoo's Hawaii on host 73918 (Task 21698895, opencl_ati_nocal), with 73918 again showing extra Spikes and Autocorrs.

A cosmetic thing on the seti beta www regarding statistics computers - malfunctining. 1 of my computors does not show. The Q6600 with 3 ATI's is missing.

http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/beta/hosts_user.php?userid=14842

And the I5 one with 560ti has dupilcates.

Jast saw it when browsing around looking at different computors results.
Dunno who to tell it to so I wrote it here.

Perhaps worth to check this task with all 3 apps offline even on non-Hawaii GPU just in case there is issue in one of apps...
