Stop using anonymous plaform apps in beta. I will be deploying a validator tomorrow that will mark anonymous platform results as invalid.

Could you please tell the less forunate of only human intelligence what that means? I'm running this project, and I can read your words, but no matter how many times I do that, I don't know what that means to me.

I think I'm running on the same platform that's in the Space Shuttle. I have to type everything into the computer as hexidecimal, which makes typing a response like this pretty time consuming.

I have a fear of doing an ounce of work for which I don't get credit, so please treat this like one half step above your highest priority. I would press the button to suspend the project, but I am too lazy... and I like the thrill of being a risktaker... I'm gonna let it ride and hope for the best. The best being that for the next year or so before I check back, this new-fangled validatafier thing doesn't toss my results into the bit bucket, thereby risking the non-discovery of aliens that are trying to contact me. I think I pretty much got you on that point in terms of expressing the seriousness of how much I don't know.

Plesae provide updates every minute.

Thanks.

You are fine as you are running without the app_info.

It is only people who have anonymous platform besides the wu that are in trouble.

Does this mean that all pending results which are marked as anonymous platform which are still in the host overview will be marked also as invalid?

Does that partain to both MB and AP?

i.e. do they run on one validator or are those separate?
If they are separate will you be changing both?

Reason for asking is that I'm primarily alphaing the CUDA MB app before it goes into beta stock testing and would like to know if that can continue in the background.

Well Eric, I was about to write the same as Michael once my GPU tasks always abort but I really think I have some problem with the OS and so I will reinstall it. The explanation of arkayn was good enough for me.

Yes...

My machine calculated before this date with app_info.xml file (*anonymous platform*) for to test Raistmer's OpenCL NVIDIA r1316 beta application (before this application was the stock application here).

The wingmen don't send their results to now (last deadline Jul/27), so this results of my machine are still *pending*.

LOL... thanks! So many people think my responses are random. They don't appreciate that they are well thought out nonsense, with a point hidden somewhere inside if I remember what I wanted to say. I would definitely give you a +1 if I knew how. I'll give you one here:

+1

Sorry, thought I had subscribed to this thread when I hadn't.

The new validator didn't go online today, and I probably won't have time tomorrow. I'd still prefer you stayed with stock astropulse apps, though. If you're testing an SAH v7 app using anonymous platform that's OK. An new AP validator would only affect AP results, and I might be able to just mark anonymous platform apps as inconsistent in order to require 2 stock results for validation.

I still am not sure what this is? How can I be sure I am not "anonymous" on all my PC's?

If you were, it would tell you in the message/event log every time you start BOINC:

I likely knew the answer to this question a while back but why am I not getting any Astropulse work units?

Another way is to login to your account and check the tasks page.
If the entries in the "Application" column include "Anonymous platform" you are using anonymous platform. If the entries just show the application name (like AstroPulse v6 v6.04 (opencl_nvidia_100)' you are not using anonymous platform.

But HOW do I tell that on my PC's? I just want to know the details.

The client downloads an extreme amount of workunits and they all result in computational error... what's going on? I will not cook my GPU for nothing.
