June 10, 2005: Grand Canyon National Park

On the way back home from the San Juan raft trip, Sarah and I decided to stop by the Grand Canyon (Sarah had never seen it before). We arrived around sunset, so we got some excellent contrasting shadows in the canyon. We only spent about an hour there, since we had many more miles to go that night. To get to the Grand Canyon from Bluff, Utah, you actually drive through Monument Valley (the quintessential western US landscape). We forgot to take pictures, though.
