It has to be asked.

We had 9 years of corruption, lies, fraudulent acts and coverups here, the U.S. had 4 years of Donny doing even worse, a U.K. government that doesn't have a clue while doing the same and what can 1 say about Israel's putrid government, then there's N.Z. whose newly elected bunch far right morons are trying to quickly turn back time to the early 20th century as fast as possible (and their people are already unhappy).

Thankfully we got rid of ours before they got to far to the right (sucking up to Donny's mob ways screwed them), but fixing the problems that they have caused is coming at a big costs to taxpayers to correct, and another country has thrown theirs off to give the country back to the people.

Poland's new PM Donald Tusk moves to free state media from previous government's political control.

And you really have to wonder where the names to some of these parties come from when they're far from what they really are, eg: The Liberal Party here are just a bunch of mostly mighty white conservatives and Poland's Law and Justice Party is anything but, while the Republican Party these days just want to be authoritarian.

These days they all just seem to want to spread chaos across the world while trying to increase their power in any way that they can instead of doing the right thing and improving the lives of their people (unless those people are moronic idiots that they can use as expendable puppets). :-(

All by the power of the echo chambers of online social media and the manipulation of propaganda and self-serving advertising?

The rest is no-morals greedy profits and the consequences be damned...

Or... Is there something more insidiously criminally organised about it?...

All in our deadly political world...

In the Swiss Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) on December 14th there was an article (in German) by the political philosopher Patrick J. Deneen, professor (formerly Princeton and Georgetown; now: Notre Dame, Indiana). He is the author of the book: "Why Liberalism failed". He blames the political establishment, both the classic conservatives and the progressive left establishment in the USA, for ignoring the interests of the majority population for a very long time. In this sense, Trump is just a phenomenon that the previously ruling elites themselves created. His outlook is pretty bleak. He sees either a civil war coming if Trumps populism prevails. Or an autocracy will arise in order to contain populism against the will of the majority, to prohibit it from speaking. The way out would be rational, comprehensible politics for the interests of the large majority in the middle. The last sentence of his article:

"If you don’t like Donald Trump, just wait and see what comes next."

Btw. Poland... What is the largest faction in the Polish Parliament now? Tusk? No, by far it's Kaczynski's PiS, i.e. the right-wing Morons. Tusk was able to form a majority coalition because the right-wing weren't able to convince the ultra-right. Tusk now has the chance to make politics for the center, for all Poles. Otherwise, the Right-Wing Morons will quickly come back, only stronger, more uncompromising. Have a look on the regional map of election results. There's more blue than orange:

Poland's new PM Donald Tusk moves to free state media from previous government's political control.
Don't get me wrong. Tusk's extremely harsh intervention into Polish TV and radio was unavoidable... pure right-wing brainwashing. Hopefully they will be able to establish an independent TV, far from political influence. This is difficult. Without public supervision or control, there will be another rich Berlusconi or a Murdoch who simply buys TV or radio stations, thus political influence. It is difficult to reliably setup neutral supervision bodies. The political left also knows how to infiltrate public media and how to abuse it.

Another European right wing nutter (and PooTin lover) is caving in as he finds his position untenable.

PooTin Ally Gives Ukraine Aid Package Lifeline.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has signaled that a €50 billion ($55 billion) package from the European Union for Ukraine could pass if his country is exempted from it.

Orbán, a longtime ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, suggested Thursday that the EU can circumvent his country's opposition to a four-year financial aid package for Kyiv by striking a separate deal among the 26 other bloc members, Bloomberg reported.

Days earlier, he vetoed the aid package at a two-day summit in Brussels. That move came shortly after the EU came to an agreement on starting membership talks with Ukraine.....

Even India has a problem with its current right wing government becoming more authoritarian and suppressing any opposition while pushing his Hindu nationalist ways above all others.

How two protesters caused chaos inside India's parliament and an outcry over the Modi government's approach to dissent.

The latest far right vote rigging PooTin loving government that has upset its people.

Police in Serbia fire tear gas at election protesters threatening to storm capital's city hall.

Police in Serbia fired tear gas to prevent hundreds of opposition supporters from entering the capital’s city council building Sunday in protest of what election observers said were widespread vote irregularities during a general election last weekend.

The country's populist authorities have denied rigging the vote and described the election to fill parliament and local offices as fair. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said Sunday that those claims were blatant ”lies” promoted by the political opposition.

Vucic also suggested the unrest was instigated from abroad. Addressing the nation during the protest outside Belgrade city hall, he called the demonstrators “thugs” who would not succeed in destabilizing the state and said, “This is not a revolution.”

“They will not succeed,” Vucic said. "We are doing our best with our calm and mild reaction not to hurt demonstrators” who came to the event to protest peacefully.

Shielded riot police barricaded themselves inside the city government building, firing tear gas as hundreds of opposition protesters broke windows at the entrance.

The protesters shouted, “Open the door” and “Thieves,” as they pelted the building with eggs. Some chanted, “Vucic is Putin,” comparing the Serbian president with Russia's leader.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Results from the Dec. 17 election showed victory for Vucic’s Serbian Progressive Party in both the parliamentary and Belgrade city ballots. The party's main opponent, the Serbia Against Violence alliance, said it was robbed of a win, especially in Belgrade....

I could put this elsewhere, but it serves as a better example here for what comes of far right governments and the corruption and chaos that they deliver.

Israel’s horrible year started long before October 7.

If crooked Donny and his mob of far right, hate filled MAGA RINO morons get their way it'll be Israel, but on mega steroids.
