In another first for the James Webb Space Telescope: It has tentatively discovered a sign of life on Planet K2-18b, a sub-Neptune body, about 120 light years from Earth. Evidence of Dimethyl Sulphide gas was found in the planet's atmosphere. Methane and Carbon Dioxide were also detected. On Earth, at least, Dimethyl Sulphide is exclusively a product of life processes. It is mainly produced here by phytoplankton in the oceans. This apparent discovery will, of course, need repeated, and independent confirmation.
