I used to run seti@home on windows, and I really liked the graphical screensaver, because it let me see what data it was actually crunching, specifically right ascension, declination and frequency. Now, I've switched to linux, and I understand that there is no graphics for linux. So be it, but I really miss knowing what data my computer is actually working on. Is there really no way to extract right ascension, declination and frequency in BOINC? |

You need to parse that data out of each task in your cache. The tasks can viewed with a text editor. The RA/DEC values are right at the top of the file. Great! Do you know where they are stored? |

Great! Do you know where they are stored? I am not understanding the question. Do I know where the RA/DEC values are? At the very top of the WU file. Do I know where the tasks are stored?? Assuming you are speaking of the actual WU's. Then the project directory and its files and WU's are located at: /var/lib/boinc-client/projects/setiathome.berkeley.edu Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |
