That all depends on the availability of the volunteer developers and how big the changes required are. It may be that there is nothing to do barring a re-compilation, or it could be a mega rebuild. Given the way the various changes in Windows have been coped with I would guess the former to get a "working" system, followed by a long period of testing and tweaking to get any benefits.
