OK, I capitulate...

For the past, say, 3 months, BOINC reports LOADS of tasks...BUT, as I view the list, EVERY task "switches" between READY, RUNNING [abt 2 femtoseconds], POSTPONED & READY TO RUN. My screen saver says my average score is 12! NOTHING is ever actively processing. When I go back into BOINC MGR, EVERY task is labeled COMPUTATION ERROR. When I return, agn, POOF! TASKS is utterly blank/empty.

I DO get downloads; All files r either 703, 704 or 708 KB. Then the above cycle repeats. I have not gotten any update notices, thinking this mite solve the problem.

If u will allow, a timeline recorded in my DAILY LOG:

‎Tuesday, ‎January ‎23, ‎2018
5:32:40 PM
Files All say "computation error" and NO tasks running

‎Sunday, ‎January ‎28, ‎2018
11:03:06 AM
After running just 1 task, BOINC now running NO tasks & ALL tasks have computational error under TASKS
12:15:45 PM
All TASKS now have "Ready to Start", "Postponed" and "Waiting to Run" which changes to POSTPONED as we move up/down the list
1 task is RUNNING on the SS [screen saver]
5:04:33 PM
ALL TASKS NOW "COMPUTATIONAL ERROR"

‎Wednesday, ‎February ‎14, ‎2018
9:52:17 AM
Boinc NOW has only a few tasks and it says POSTPONED but keeps jumping to RUNNING then READY TO RUN then repeats

‎Thursday, ‎February ‎15, ‎2018

THERE R NO TASKS IN BOINC, EITHER ALL OR ACTIVE. NO XFERS

ALRITE!!!!!! Opened BOINC and had same "computation error". Rite before our eyes BOOM!!!! Less than 1 screen-full of tasks changed to a completely normal load of tasks, DL normally. This is the 1st time we've seen DL in progress since switched to hi-speed! Still only 2 files at a time but they DL FAST

I am in ur capable diagnostic hands...

When you check the details of the tasks, you can also check the details of the error, by clicking:
Your computer(s): https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=1122002
Tasks: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=8166978
Any of the Tasks, first column: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=6504589062
Scroll down to the stderr.txt part

Yours is a too many boinc_temporary_exit()s which is BOINC trying 100 times per task to see if something's been changed in the behaviour, before bombing out. Normally used for circumventing firewalls and anti-virus scans, but here it's different:
WARNING: boinc_get_opencl_ids failed with code -1
Error: Getting Platforms. (clGetPlatformsIDs)
BOINC assigns device 0
WARNING: BOINC failed to provide OpenCL device, using own enumeration abilities
ERROR: OpenCL kernel/call 'clGetDeviceIDs (second call)' call failed (-32) in file ..\..\..\src\GPU_lock.cpp near line 1300.

This means in so many words that the OpenCL driver for your Intel GPU is failing. You need to reinstall the drivers, and reinstall them from the Intel web site, not let Windows do it for you.
Drivers installed by Windows (Update) do not always contain all the right components. Always only install drivers from the GPU manufacturer's website and tell Windows to bugger off when it comes to installing driver updates.

You can get drivers from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/. Do know, the newest aren't always the best, it may take doing some older drivers before you find the sweet point.

Hey Ageless,

THANK-U!!!!! SOOOOOOOO much for ur guidance!!!!

In my own "defense", I checked EVERY log/list/function/setting/preference of which I am cognizant. OBVIOUSLY, this issue is WAY above my space/stratosphere boundary!!!

But WHY, all-of-a-sudden like a switch being thrown or a stroke of lightning?? I always suspect WINDOWS, especially after an update. But NOTHING changed: no BOINC updates, no MS "making things better", etc. And everything was working — xcept of course the screen saver — then BLAM! Can a file corrupt just like THAT?? Could a good copy b "hiding" on my xternal, system back-up drive? Or the data back-up xternal drive?

Thank-u profusely, agn!
