Hi

I have a PC with no monitor attached and manage it using Windows Remote Desktop.

If I installed a graphics card in this PC could I run SETI@home on the GPU? I wondered if:

1) GPU tasks will they be crunched if nobody is logged on at the PC?

2) What would happen when I make a Remote Desktop connection? Would this stop the GPU work or worse cause SETI@home to report "no GPU" errors or similiar as to what happened when I tried fast user switching on my main PC.

GPU crunching is only available if you do not install it as a system service which means it can only be used while a user is logged into the computer.

Remote Desktop uses its own graphics driver that doesn't support GPU crunching, so using RDP will interrupt GPU processing.

You can set any recent version of Windows with no password on the default logon account, so that if the system restarts it will "log on" and then BOINC can start GPU processing... this is one way around the service GPU use restriction (also works on Linux.)

You could also use the free TeamViewer (https://www.teamviewer.com/en/) which I use to manage several local computers and one remote (50 miles away) using only one monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Login is required on all my computers, even using TeamViewer.

Habe nach aktuelle Treiber für meine Grafikkarte gesucht und keinen gefunden und bei Aktualisierung wurde auch kein neuer Treber bei Windows 10 heruntergeladen.

What brand and model videocard?
Download drivers always from the manufacturer of the GPU on the videocard, never from Windows as here it may not have all the necessary components included (OpenCL, CUDA).

ATI/AMD GPI drivers
Nvidia GPU drivers
Intel drivers
