Hi newbie here. I have recently started using an Amazon Web Services ec2 free tier running Windows Server. Does any one know if we are allowed to run BOINC on these?

I would ask AWS about that. What we do is cpu/gpu intensive which makes it difficult to share a server to do anything else. AWS is based on both sharing servers and dynamic scaling based on the server load. You could very well break your Service Level Agreement with AWS and loose that free access.
