Since more than two days I try to get access to my old account: Click!

I registered the account I'm currently writing just to get in contact with this forums.

I don't know the password for my old account but tried a few dozens of my typical passwords - without success. I still use the same email-address (and have access to it, of course). So I tried to reset my password and it's displayed that an email is sent. Unfortunately I never got an email (tried ~15 times from different pcs to make sure that no firewall is holding me back).

My email-provider is a large german webmail-provider (web.de). As far as I can say there is no blacklisting of ssl.berkeley.edu at web.de but I'm not sure whether all policies from web.de are respected through ssl.berkeley.edu.

Is there anything I can do to receive an email to reset my password? Is there anyone I can contact to make sure that an email is sent actually?

You can connect to your "options" page with your "old" email address and password. You will find on there a form to set or change your email address or your password. Obviously you need to remember your old password to log on - As far as I'm aware no way to change either if you can't remember your old password.

If I would remember my old password I don't have to change anything. ;)

My problem starts when I want to receive an email resetting my password.... Someone has to have access to the information whether a mail was sent or not. And if all policies of web.de are respected.

Is anyone out there giving these information?

Thank you for clarification. This means that an email is sent.

In my mail account there are no personal spam filters. All mails are delivered and I handle them manually. What I don't have access to is a possible spam filter of my provider web.de.

I additionally checked if ssl.berkeley.edu is blacklisted at web.de but I couldn't find evidence for that.

That (again) leads me to the question whether SETI@home respects all policies of web.de:

- RFC 5321 and RFC 5322-compliant
- static IP-address
- valid HELO
- no generic PTR-RR

Can anyone say something about that question?
