I personally knew Frank for about a year. Wasn't important at the time. So excuse my ignorance here, but you just confirmed that the NYPD actually had corrupt officers, or am I mistaken? Off topic? Really? With a thread title "Whispers in the corridors of the U.S Congress... ...would that be whispers of corruption by any chance? |

Sorry. But only Children and Adolescents really believe that any human organization is without sin. Oooh, so are you saying that you were sinful? How many envelopes did you salt away? |

I don't know why you guys keep responding to 239521 when it's much easier to add that number to your ignore list so we can actually have much more intelligent discussions around here instead of responses to crap. ;-) Cheers. |

Should have been done during a Presidential News Conference. Would that not have required some small amount of perhaps proof, or at least a hint of it. Whist I think it is good that an American president has taken to Twitter so well, it does sort of make him seem, well less presidential and more like some of the "snowflakes" that get criticised here. |

Should have been done during a Presidential News Conference. OR maybe just a man in charge that is more with the times than any president before him. JFK was decidedly the most 'presidential' man ever to hold the office. I am not suggesting that Trump shall even approach that pinnacle. But I am suggesting that perhaps Trump may end up being the most candid and approachable president we have ever had. And two months into it, I am not passing any judgements at all so far. My approval rating is hovering around 90 percent. It has gone as low as 65, and as high as 95. It would take the Lord almighty to get a 100 on my scale, and only Jesus Christ has done that. There is absolutely no case in Donald's accusation of phone tapping. If anyone in the US makes contact with countries or organisations deemed to be against US interests, then don't you think that the NSA and the other security services would be monitoring all calls made to such places. Bit naive to think you or your friends could repeatedly make contact with the Russians and someone not know you had done it. But that just about sums up this administration, naive, dumb and stupid. |

Should have been done during a Presidential News Conference. Oh, you mean evidence sufficient for a judge in a FISA court to grant a warrant? Such evidence would have to be sufficient to meet the "probably cause" hurdle. If the investigation is ongoing (which it may well be), the FBI would not typically release such evidence for public consumption until they had to, e.g. during pre-trial discovery. [ETA]if the FBI did get a FISA court issued warrant, then it's nothing like Watergate, which was an entirely extra-judicial activity[/ETA] I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

Should have been done during a Presidential News Conference. Ah, but anyone who has done criminal investigations... ...would know that :-) |

There is absolutely no case in Donald's accusation of phone tapping. No he was tapped. Every call he made that crossed the USA border was tapped and recorded and computer analyzed. IFF the computer flagged it then and only then a human listened to it and a transcript was prepared. But tRump is wrong, it wasn't Obama that tapped him, it was shrub! Obama wanted to end it, but the party of NO refused to end it. |

Should have been done during a Presidential News Conference. You might think that, I couldn't possibly comment. A person that had worked with the FBI might know that there's an arm's length arrangement between the office of the President and the Justice Department following Nixon's abuse of executive power. The arrangement was largely dismantled under George W Bush, an action which ultimately lead to the resignation of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, and the re-establishment of the arrangement under his successor, Michael Mukasey. Of course, you might think an historian would know some of this ... I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

Trump - Trying to unpick this, is "45" saying that the court was wrong to deny a FISA request? Or that Obama's justice department was wrong to go back to FISA after first being denied a warrant? Didn't "45" appeal a federal court judge's decision? Aren't the actions of the FBI similar? foxnews wrote: Former President Obama on Saturday denied President Trump’s accusation that Obama had Trump Tower phones tapped in the weeks before the November 2016 election.(source) Looks like Obama just called "45" a liar. Those restrictions were put in place to protect citizens from people like you." Cheers. |

Looks like Obama just called "45" a liar. Wow, really, none of us know? I'm shocked. What we do know is that one has form as generally being a truth teller while the other has form as generally an untruth teller. A person might use such knowledge to arrive at an opinion based on the balance of probabilities. Others might chose to describe the action as foolhardy. IMHO, it seems to me highly unlikely we'll reach a situation in which Obama needs a pardon from "45", the very suggestion strikes me as hyperbole. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

Looks like Obama just called "45" a liar. Wow, didn't take you long to revert to form and make a claim knowledge for which you have no evidence. I'm not shocked. If trust of anything was implied in my earlier post it was of probabilities. Since both sides have a reason to lie (Power corrupts and absolute...). And the ramifications will probably be felt very soon. It would be better to withhold judgement at this time. In this poster's view, you commit acts of prejudice as a matter of routine. I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

In this poster's view, you commit acts of prejudice as a matter of routine. As well as scream the loudest over "personal attacks" when directed at him, but quite happy to attack others & expect to get away with it :-) |

The NSA and I have crossed paths. They, for reasons which are in my nondisclosure agreement, no longer mess with me. That agreement is so strong that I am at a bit of a risk even mentioning the NSA exists. They cannot touch me or even attempt to. Meow. "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting."
