I don't, because when our sun exits main sequence and its outer layers cross Earth's orbit, blow away the atmosphere and boil the oceans, I and everyone who ever remembered my existence will have been gone for about five billion years... and strangely this doesn't bother me at all. I didn't notice the eternity that passed before I was born; I won't notice that one either.

Does it not depend on what End we prepare for?

If we prepare for an End based on religious prophesy, then the prepping becomes a self fulfilling prophesy.
One religious prophesy against another.

If the End is science based, ie Climate Change, then we can prepare collectively to minimize, or avoid the End.
