Installed BOINC and Seti on my android phone for first time yesterday. Its reporting now that all tasks are "Error while computing". Most are running for 0 time, but a few are running for less than a second.

Appreciate any help solving why it is doing this.

You have two problems:
1. Your processor isn't recognized, so the project may not be sending you the correct application for your processor. This is a side-effect due to Android 6, and until a new BOINC version for Android comes out - whenever that is - there's at present no fix for this.
2. All your work fails with the signal 11 error, which in Unix terms means it failed due to a segmentation error. Segmentation errors happen when you have corrupt memory or a bad page file.

How would one fix issue 2, or is it probably related to how the processor is handling?

Yes, it's possible that the missing CPU information is inherent to these errors. As far as I know, the only way to fix memory errors on an Android device is to return it to the manufacturer and have them check it out, or when it's out of warranty, to buy a new one. You should be able to reformat the page file/cache file in it though, but that differs per device so it's difficult to say how. You may want to install, Android Assistant from the Google Play Store, as it allows for easy cleaning of all cache.
