"It's never gonna get any better. Don't look for it. Be happy with what you got. Because the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the REAL owners. The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians. The politicians are put there to give you the impression you've got freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice.

You have owners. They OWN you. They own EVERYTHING... They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They've long since bought and paid for:
-The Senate
-The Congress
-The State Houses
-The City Halls
They've got the judges in their back pockets. And they own all of the big media companies so they control just about all the information you get to hear. They got you by the BA**S. They spend billions of dollars every year LOBBYING to get what they want.

Well we KNOW what they want. They want MORE for themselves and LESS for everybody else. But I'll tell you what they don't want. They don't want a population capable of critical thinking...

They don't want people who are smart enough to sit around the kitchen table and figure out how badly they're getting f'ed by a system that threw 'em overboard 30 f'in years ago...

...You know what they want? Obedient workers. People who are JUST smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork and just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shi**ier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that dissappears the minute you go to collect it.

And now they're coming for your Social Security money.

They want your f'in retirement money. They want it "back". So they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They'll get it. They'll get it ALL from you sooner or later. 'Cause they OWN this f'in place.

It's a Big Club... and YOU ain't in it!"

Right on time Kong! Thanx for dropping by :) Remember when I took issue with the classic "absolute power" quote? Look what I found!

“All governments suffer a recurring problem: Power attracts pathological personalities. It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible. Such people have a tendency to become drunk on violence, a condition to which they are quickly addicted.”

Thank you for the Carlin quote.

You have to hear it from his own lips to truly appreciate it to it's fullest.

The Big Club.....and you ain't in it.
I have posted this clip for YEARS. Not just in this election year.

You have to pardon the couple of F words. Carlin never hesitated to cut through the s^^t.

I see that my post of the actual Carlin performance was a bit too much for the forums to handle.
Such as he was, Carlin was a master of words, and did not hesitate to use any and all of them.

His candor is still missed by many, including myself.
You can go on youtube and watch many of his rants, even if I am not allowed to post them here for you.

I really do recommend that you spend a day rewatching him. Many of his opinions have simply become more pointed and valid with the passing of time.

The current comment quoted in this thread is an excellent example.
And most of the American public has yet to fathom just how large and exclusive that club is.

Ah yes. I had completely forgotten about this lovely lady. A perfect specimen :)

It's always a pleasure to see you Mr. K :)

Yeah, dumping a Carlin monologue in text doesn't do the man justice... not by a long shot. And yes: boy did he love words and know how to use them.

Unrelated but since you are here... I'm sure you already know I think your man Trump belongs in this thread. But then again so does Hillary.

I'm thinking Trump likely psychopath and Clinton (very) likely narcissist.

I think you have that backwards. Trump is a narcissist... and Clinton is a psychopath.

And as to your Frank Herbert quote from earlier:

It is not that power corrupts but that it is magnetic to the corruptible.

It is BOTH. Yes, it attracts the corruptible... Then it corrupts them.

Uuuuum!
Now the Trump definition is one I can agree with.
But the Clinton one, a psychopath is someone with a psychiatric disorder with violent social behavior, don't see where the "with violent social behavior" fits.

...a psychopath is someone with a psychiatric disorder with violent social behavior...

Quick note:

Well that's one of the things this thread is about. Violent psychopaths have been better studied but I've never read anywhere that the majority (let alone ALL) psychopaths are violent. For now (as I understand it) I think the majority are non-violent.

So there are 20 things on the psychopathy checklist and today I'm in the mood to focus on lying. Trump lies like a psychopath. Half the time it looks (to me) like he doesn't even know he's doing it.

I mean, I get the feeling that if you hooked the guy up to a polygraph without his knowledge... after a while you'd be checking to see if the thing is plugged in and working ;)

OK now here's a classic tool in the psychopath's toolbox:
http://everydayfeminism.com/2015/08/things-wish-known-gaslighting/

From es99's link over in the Hillary thread I roamed to the one above. I bet if the lady who wrote that went through the entire psychopathy checklist she'd realize she was living with a psychopath.
