We have competition from the SETI Institute shoveling the data obtained from its ATA telescope to IBM Cloud. No BOINC, of course. Tullio |

Competition? I would call it collaboration. The more people looking the better the chance of finding something. Remember the ATA has always been allied with that other school. (Stanford) |

I think there is enough room in the cosmos for any and everybody to be searching. More power to them. Meow! "Freedom is just Chaos, with better lighting." Alan Dean Foster |

I have googled SETI@IBMCloud. Frankly I think we need some competition, otherwise we shall become a club of model aircraft builders, each striving to build the fastest model aircraft (PC). I had read an intervention by a lady from the SETI Institute (not Jill Tarter) pleading for a new approach. Maybe this agreement with IBM is the result. Tullio |
