We have competition from the SETI Institute shoveling the data obtained from its ATA telescope to IBM Cloud.No BOINC, of course.

Competition? I would call it collaboration. The more people looking the better the chance of finding something. Remember the ATA has always been allied with that other school. (Stanford)

All scientists compete with each other, this is at the basis of the scientific endeavor.

I have googled SETI@IBMCloud. Frankly I think we need some competition, otherwise we shall become a club of model aircraft builders, each striving to build the fastest model aircraft (PC). I had read an intervention by a lady from the SETI Institute (not Jill Tarter) pleading for a new approach. Maybe this agreement with IBM is the result.
