Without knowing the appropriate resolution that we'd get... Wouldn't a "visual" telescope work better to start with?

I meant targeted SETI radio-observations like those going under BreakThrough Listen to be precise.Optical SETI could look there too.
But hardly current optical telescopes resolution could be enough to hope to see planet as separate object directly.
From other side, in radiowaves range resolution much higher (telescopes like Arecibo, RATAN-600 and radio-interferometers with super-long base ~ Earth radius) and should be enough to locate radio-sources (if any) directly to the planet.

This may be a "we get such GREAT pictures from the Hubble, so why not... ?" question, but why couldn't someone just, maybe,... request time on the Hubble?
