Interesting, but not in my immediate vacation plans.

If we sent a probe traveling at half the speed of light, the probe would experience 8 years of travel, but how long would it take from our perspective?

If we had a working version of the Battlestar Galactica's jump system(an Einstein-Rosen bridge), We could beat any such probe to Proxima Centauri, with time to spare.

Well. Substitute v with c/2 in this equation and you will get the answer in t':)

Mindgobbling.
But I think you still will get close up pictures from Proxima Centauri within 12 years if the probe travel at half the speed of light, 8 years, and transmitting back that will take 4 years.

The researcher that found it is Mikko Tuomi from Finland.

The name for the planet have to be Hagberry instead of Proxima b!
Why? In Finland hagberries comes from the tree "toumi"
