Message 1812825 - Posted: 26 Aug 2016, 21:01:23 UTC - in response to Message 1809901.

During the weekly outage I run Primegrid PPS Sieve.
Now if want work for seti I get this message:
17.08.2016 14:48:12 | SETI@home | Not requesting tasks: don't need (CPU: ; NVIDIA GPU: not highest priority project)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
How can I handle this without stopping Primegrid.
I want to run seti and Primegrid together on the same machine.
What I had todo Setting the priority thingy right. ?
It is fairly simple, but a little "non-obvious".
Go to your "account" web page in SETI
Select the "preferences for this project" link - you should arrive on this page: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=project .
Note what the "resource share" for SETI is for each of the locations.
Do the same for Primgrid (sorry I can't give you the link for their preferences page as I don't run Primegrid).
Are they both set to 1000?
Use the edit "preferences" link to get to the page where you can edit various values. In Primegrid REDUCE the resource share to say 100, and make sure that SETI is set to 1000.
So what will this do for you, well, in the short term very little as Primegrid already has tasks running, but over time the effort put in the two projects will move to a 1:10 ratio in favour of SETI.
A little trick, if you only want Primegrib to run when there is no SETI work available set the resource share for Primegrid to zero. SETI will now run most of the time, with Primegrid running when needed.
:-)
Depending on the time of year, here 24°c as a minimum is either quite cool or a bit warm.
When the minimum is 29°c & the relative humidity is in the high 80s (or even 90s), that's a bad night.
