Not too many have seen this Les Paul clip.....

He was one of my childhood musical idols.
Him and my Dad, who could not play a lick, except for the wonderful stereo systems that he built to play this stuff.
Les's recordings were so wonderful to hear on a properly tuned hifi.
Dad had one of the houses he built engineered by a sound specialist with speaker cabinets built into the walls. The space between the wall joists was blocked off to make the proper cavity for the 12" Utah speakers, and actually left a port open, covered with cloth, for the bass reflex to work.

He also bought a grand Voice of Music console radio that had an 18" speaker in it. This was just before stereo records were developed. So, when that came about, the unit was fitted with a stereo cartridge, and the right channel was routed to a jack on the back panel. And a second free standing amp/speaker unit was purchased to play the extra channel. So, one had to go back and forth between the two if you wanted to change the volume. They spent most of their time on 11 anyway...LOL. Tube amps, of course. Transistors had not come of age back then. Tubes had balls........they were a current happy device, not voltage so much, so they could carry the bass notes very well. Large voice coils loved tubes. Now you know why, years later, I bought an 18" JBL subwoofer cabinet for my home system. Even my little computer sound system has a subwoofer.

Aside from the obvious, she did not know my side story about 'All about that bass'. Aside from it's doo-woppy deliciousness, it also has a tasty bass line.
And having mixed some music in my studio days, I just love the doo-wop trio in the background....I would have amped them up just a tad. The bass however, is perfectly placed.

Going to have to give the kitties some extra special attention tonight and tomorrow night due to the impending fireworks displays.

Cats do not understand that the 'big booms' are not a threat, and they tend to go into panic mode. Eyes big as saucers, and scared as hell.
Purrball does, anyway. Bandit just rolls over and wants more pettings....LOL.
I do not understand the difference between the two, as they are sisters and have experienced all things side by side.

Which leaves us with.................trusted friends.
These are the ones most likely to kill you, for they have open doors and you accept them into your safe domain.
These are the ones you need to be wary of.

I trust explicitly, NOBODY. Even Lori has a hard time getting past my defenses. And she is my gurl.
Two ways of getting by that.
You have something I want a lot.
Or you have something I implicitly need and desire.

I can get around either scenario without altercation by several means.
Mostly, by buying it. I make a good living, and can purchase my way around even the local gendarms at times. They are too timid to bother me anymore.
We last talked about 15 years ago. And I made it quite clear that would be the last kind speech we would have.

I have no enemies to speak of. My neighbor to the south mows part of my lawn for me. The neighbor to the north just sold their shack, and bid me a fond adue. New cats moved in, and truth be told, I had a visit from the young daughter.

She is way past 18 though, and legal bait. And not bad to look at.

I am freaking 40 years her senior, what is the attraction there???????????
Something is not right, and I am steering clear for now.
