There are a number of posts relating to Britain's vote to leave the EU. Rather than ask for everyone to give a generalised political opinion I would like to ask how and why you seriously and honestly think it will mean a difference to you. To your life, your ecconomics, your cultural world connection... etc.. I'm not suggesting that Britain leaving the UK is anything devestating for the world but it is an event that will alter some balances and affect some of our lives quite distinctly. . |

Probably won't affect my life much as I live in the USA. But I do occasionally buy items online from England and as long as the pound is in the dumper things I buy are much cheaper. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

As long as it doesn't cause inflation it won't affect me. My opinion is it will cause an economic slowdown which won't affect me because I'm retired. |

I don't want to see how much money I lost today in the retirement funds. I know my employer lost a pile in an endowment fund. I don't know if it will set off a recession/depression but the world economy was not in good shape to begin with. I fear that it will not recover while I'm still alive. Contagion lives. |

I don't want to see how much money I lost today I'm retired, and live on a variety of investments. I suspect anyone with a diverse investment income will feel something, but hopefully the diversity is good enough that the impact will not be too bad. (I'm afraid to look) There's just so many factors that affect investments, and the nervous volatility of a big change like this is bound to cause some movement. There will be losers and there will be winners. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Thanks to the falling pound, Bassett's Jelly Babies will be cheaper for me, and it'll be cheaper for me to visit family. I expect we'll see fewer UK tourists here in NYC (in the past some friends have come over and do some shopping). I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ... |

If you are an American and think you will not be affected by Brexit, think again. Cameron's former adviser: - Hillary could become the next victim https://www.nrk.no/urix/camerons-tidligere-radgiver_---hillary-kan-bli-neste-offer-1.13014454 - This should be a wakeup call for Clinton. People are furious and worried, and feel pressured by immigration. Several of the contentious issues in the UK has also been in the United States. Donald has a bit different approach. Just like Britons voted to take their nation back with the Brexit referendum, America can do the same — if they help fund Trump’s general election campaign, he suggested in a fundraising email. http://www.politico.eu/article/trump-fundraises-off-brexit-presidential-campaign-referendum/ Well I guess today most of us have a hangover... |

Excepting Scotch Whisky, my favorite. I cannot think of anything made in The UK that I purchase. The Brexit referendum was not about Anti Globalization. If you mean Globalization as in trading there will be no such referendums. I have never heard anyone opposing to trade. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/06/brexit-us-britain-trade-deal-224776 About UK goods. We trade a lot with the UK but I cannot figure out what we are buying... Nor my GF:) Once it was cars but thats history. |

The New World Order. Is just International Capitalists attempting to restore 19th Century Capitalism. But 19th Century Capitalism never went away so it does not need to be restored. Citizens United, a corporation is a sovereign. What the NWO wants is the UN to grant corporations. |

If the sourpusses in remain don't get their way with a 2nd referendum...I thought it was the fools who believed the remain polls but wanted to protest vote. Shocked they are. Of course by the time of the redo the economy will have hit a new bottom leading to interesting results. |

Of course by the time of the redo the economy will have hit a new bottom leading to interesting results. Don't be lazy Gary. You've got the brain cells... use 'em! - The bookies get it "wrong" (word wrong is in quotes because they actually did their job of hedging their bets based on volume of bets). Then - "The smartest guys in the room" i.e. The Markets are absolutely positive REMAIN will win. They bet big, get it wrong, and of course the Pound takes a... pounding. Therefore (conclusion) - The "fools" that "voted the wrong way" tanked the economy. So maybe you're beginning to see why, when using that kind of logic, I think everybody's thrown their brains out the window :D (I'm NEVER going to get over to the TRUMP thread, am I?) |

2 reports to dispute that. Can the EU save itself? NO, because there is no willpower or desire to do so, maybe this will now change, who knows. Brexit puts UK on new economic path "Of course, when they export to the EU, British companies must comply with EU regulation, whether the UK is in the EU or not. But is there any reason why the UK should not seek an arrangement with the EU like that of, say, the US, Australia or Canada? They flourish without belonging to the Single Market." Blocking the UK's access to that market will destroy many economies within the Eurozone. Where will that then leave the EU? German business leaders have already stated that fact, so for those worried about it... ...Give things time to settle throughout Europe & Britain, then the changes seen will be minimal. |

Talking of the economy and looking at the regions that actually trade with the EU and those that don't. There seems to be some odd numbers appearing. The BBC, and others, claim London contributes large amounts to the UK economy. EU Referendum: Would Brexit prompt London to go it alone? With a population of 8.7m - and forecast to grow to 10m by 2020 - the capital is already larger than Scotland and Wales combined. But another story in the Washington Post indicates that actually London, and also interestingly Scotland, does very little trade with the EU. And therefore it is the regions that depend on exports to the EU that voted to leave. Why people who really wanted Brexit will regret it most |

...Give things time to settle throughout Europe & Britain, then the changes seen will be minimal. Yes. And most of the changes will not affect us regulary people so much. The value of the pound will raise again as well. However food and holiday trips abroad will be more expensive to Brits for now. Both the EU and the UK are dependent of each other. All European countries are in the same boat so to speak. Good time to speculate in the stockmarket though if you have the money and the nerve... |
